World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.
Hello everyone one! My nickname is Dhayle and I am from the Special Science and Nature City of the Philippines; Los Baños, Laguna. Aside from being a proud housewife to an amazing man, Glenn, I am also a proud full-time mother to an eight-year old boy Academic Excellence Achiever named Elias Tadeo. When I am not busy juggling household chores and my studies, I do freelancing and virtual assistance as my part time jobs. I am also a current officer in our Sorority’s Alumni Association in University of the Philippines Los Baños, which is an active organization promoting service to all fellowmen.
World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about your education.
As of today, I am a graduate of Associate in Arts under the Faculty of Education in the University of The Philippines Open University. My degree is focusing on Arts and Humanities. I am also currently taking up Certificate Course on Human Rights 101.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?
Women empowerment entails putting power or influence in the hands of someone who is not only interested in completing a goal but also in making the road to the accomplishment remarkable. And it is this combination of compassion and hard work that is essential in today's culture.
As I have emphasized during my Question and Answer Portion in the Coronation,
“A strong woman is someone who stands up for herself. An empowered woman is someone who stands up for everybody else.”
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.
It is indeed my first time participating in a major pageant, and I am grateful to those who have supported me throughout my journey. It would not be a success without them being my backbone and support system, knowing how inexperienced I am in this kind of opportunity. It is a great honor to represent my beloved town Los Baños and to be a part of the Mrs. Laguna Philippines pageant. Never in my life did I think I'd be brave enough to undertake something like this.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
Joining this pageant, I have been very passionate about being a role model; inspiring and empowering the Filipino women and mothers to believe that like me they can be anything they want to be. That, "You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream." One also of the primary reasons why I decided to join the pageant is because I want to use the pageant platform to extend my reach, tap more people and sponsors and widen my network.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
I feel like I have to do something for myself and for other mothers out there and prove that life doesn’t end when you get married and have children. I want to grab at the chance and enjoy the experience where married women and mothers are granted a stage to shine on. I would like to use my current title to invite everyone to share my advocacy so that we can all realize a brighter future for us and our children.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system, please tell us what is it about?
Mrs. Laguna Philippines’ mission is to give opportunity to married women and mothers to take the stage, be heard and be acknowledged. This pageant serves as the platform for women to share their skills, talents, and advocacies. This year’s themes are resilient statements for women empowerment in all aspects; “A Woman for Women” and “Crown for Compassion”. The winners of the pageant will have the chance to compete in Mrs. Philippines International 2022 and other international pageants.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?
The candidates compete on several categories. Each category has corresponding score. Candidates are rank based on their scores mainly in Talent Showcase, Festival Costume, Advocacy Speech, Question and Answer and Overall Impact.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
It wasn't an easy decision for me to enter the world of pageantry to begin with, but I'm proud I did it with a thankful heart. It's been a wild trip, a roller coaster ride, but I've grown and learned a lot about myself, and that's reason enough to be grateful.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
My platform is about promoting the importance of education as a pivotal force that drives the nation to success. Since the start of the pandemic, together with my sorority (UP Theta Epsilon Sorority), we have been organizing a National Bond Paper Drive. We donate rims of bond paper to public schools to support our teachers who are struggling due to lack of school materials.
World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?
The coronation was only recently. I have been very busy after the pageant attending other responsibilities. I attended several meetings with the pageant organizers and meet ups with some of the sponsors. I was featured by local footwear and clothing brand as part of the Women’s Month Celebration. I attended live interviews via social media like Facebook and a local cable channel. Last month I attended a Gala Night, a thanksgiving party and reunion of winners and Queens. This month I did a live TV interview in Net25, a national television network here in the Philippines. And now, I am very humbled and honored as I answer this interview to be featured in World Class Beauty Queens Magazine.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?
It has been a fruitful year for me because of my Mrs. Laguna Philippines 2022 journey; I've received a lot of experiences, opportunities and lessons from the people around me, and I can't describe how grateful I am to those who sacrificed so much to aid me in this trip; thank you so much for believing in me.
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
We are all unique, with distinct personalities and certain traits in common. Every single contestant I've met has a unique style, point of view, and personality.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. It was surreal. I froze for a bit too long after hearing my name called because I was anxious. It was unfathomable to me.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
Being a Beauty Queen is a dream come true for me. Growing up, I always dreamt to be a beauty queen, but I wasn't "confidently gorgeous" enough to ever compete, so I fulfilled that childhood ambition by watching beauty pageants, answering the questions and pretending it was me in every crowning moment. I had no idea that I would experience my own crowning moment.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
Joining such prestigious pageant was not easy, but the overall process provided me with the finest experience I had. This has taught me that being a queen isn't just about possessing the crown, but also about learning and understanding what more I can provide. I have matured so much and become the remarkable woman I never dreamed I would be.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?
There were several occasions when I felt incompetent. I question my capabilities because I'm constantly concerned that I won't be able to match everyone's expectations, especially those who look up to me. I entered this pageant with the intention of stepping beyond of my comfort zone, and I didn't want to put any pressure on myself. To ease my anxiety, I constantly remind myself to just enjoy the process. Eventually, I gained enough confidence to show the real me and love my own body.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
My goal is to raise women's self-esteem. I believe that mothers like me continue to struggle between the numerous roles they perform, but often lose sight of themselves in the process. Reconnecting with their inner self will allow them to execute the same things with far more ease, less effort, and a more pleasant attitude. Women learn to appreciate themselves while also contributing more to society.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is you’re on stage strategy to win the judges over?
Pageants have progressed beyond assessing a woman only on her beauty, with one example being the question and answer portion of a pageant event, which allows candidates to answer on topics ranging from their advocacies to world challenges and societal problems. I poured my heart out during the Question and Answer portion. To stand out, you must first and foremost understand yourself. Step outside of your comfort zone. Show your confidence by owning your opinion and speaking up your mind.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
Aside from physical preparations like taking care of your body, “pasarela’ or pageant walk training, I believe that you have to be mentally and emotionally prepared. Joining the pageant has set me up for a mindset of bringing out the best in me. Being a mother, a wife, a career woman, and a student, I have a lot of responsibilities, but I know that I also have to be focused at the same time at this pageant.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
Practice and knowledge are the best ways to enhance your expertise, so take advantage of the extra time you have and study more utilizing social media, YouTube, and other resources. Continue to practice; there is no substitute for hard work and no better remedy than practice.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
One major point to keep in mind when selecting your pageant dresses is the pageant guidelines. Some pageants have strict rules about pageant attire. If you wear something that is against the rules, your score will suffer as a result. If your pageant has special rules about evening gowns, they will make that information available.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
Practice Introspection. Assess and know yourself.
Be prepared. Always! You need to set your goals, principles and stands in life. When giving your opinion, it helps to be well-informed.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
Due to tight schedules and pageant training, I somehow neglected to take care of my health in between the challenges of the pageant. Exhausted the majority of the times, the adverse consequences are becoming increasingly visible on my poise and affecting my performance. I got sick during the Pre-Pageant and it lasted until the Coronation.
World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?
I don’t have any modeling or acting experience before the pageant. By competing in the pageant, I practiced modeling for the pictorials and runways and acting for the talent show. I learnt good walking tactics, how to present one in front of pros, and how to pose both on stage and in front of the camera. Practice for the many areas of competition, participation in onstage events, and working with photographers before and during the pageant develop these abilities.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2022 as a Queen?
Winning the pageant has ushered in a new chapter in my life, rekindling my interest in the glamour industry as well as social services.
First and foremost, I will carry out my duties as Mrs. Kultura ng Laguna Philippines 2022 and continue to serve others. I shall wear my crown with the utmost respect, as it is not merely a pageant title, but also a significant responsibility that comes with a crown. Just like every mother strives to inculcate virtues in her child, I will make sure that I fulfill the pageant's purpose and motto.
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
As a Beauty Queen, I want to be remembered as I am empowered in amplifying voices, voices of the oppressed, voices of the marginalized, voices of mothers and women. With societal issues like the pandemic, it is imperative to use our voices to call to action and unite for the greater good. I entered the Mrs. Laguna Philippines pageant with the purpose of meeting new people, improving myself, and contributing to a better society. And today I am glad to declare that I have accomplished them.
