World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Please tell us about your education.
I have a master's degree in teaching and a bachelor's in English and psychology.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does women's Empowerment mean to you? Embracing your authentic self. Loving and being your unique self which makes you beautiful inside and out.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your pageant history.
I never went into pageantry before. I went into pageants when the pandemic hit because it affected many with past and present illnesses and diseases such as breast cancer. The pandemic made me among others worry about what it would do to love ones and women in general who suffer from deadly diseases such as breast cancer. We cannot forget caregivers either as I wanted to shed light on them too. Caregivers deserve recognition because they have a lot on their plates during these unprecedented times. I wanted to reach more people to bring more awareness to finding a cure for breast cancer in any way I can. Being in a pageant is one way that helps me reach this goal.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
I wanted to make breast cancer my platform and how important it is than ever before to find a cure.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
When I was chosen to be an international titleholder, I knew even more about the importance of responsibility as a titleholder.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
It was a memorable experience. Each new adventure I partake in is a learning experience. I learn more about myself and what I can do to help others in various ways. I believe anyone can partake in greater things if they believe in themselves. You are always evolving within.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Who would you recommend your system to?
Anyone who wants to talk about their platform and reach a greater audience.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
I volunteered feeding the hungry, reading to children at after school programs, meet the mayor, appeared at New York City Fashion week, donated at the Red Cross, completed the breast cancer pink walk to name a few. When I was a state and national titleholder, I volunteered to support breast cancer patients and advocate for more resources for them and their caregivers. I am now an international titleholder and I continue to partake in various causes such as feeding the hungry, advocating for women’s education, reading to adolescence, and continuing the fight to end breast cancer.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are some of your achievements?
I have a master's degree in the field of education. I am a member of Golden Key International Honor society.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
Every beautiful woman there was unique in their own way. Like everyone, I spoke from my heart and what I believed in and the judges gave me the job to help humanity internationally while the other queens continue to do God’s work locally.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
Some think those who are chosen cry and scream for joy when their names are called. I didn’t because I knew it was the moment that my work had to be performed on an international stage. I smiled and graciously accepted the sash and crown because I was grateful to be chosen and took in that moment. There is a sense of joy but also a weight involved when you're chosen. I know I had to be mentally prepared to show my strength and leadership on a grander scale.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
I try to show what love, kindness, and compassion look like through volunteering. When I meet people across the nation and the world, I always remember that you never know who you will impact.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
Any opportunity such as this opens doors to give back and to have the opportunity to show the world what love is through giving; whether it’s by time or money. Although being featured on magazine covers, and being invited for interviews and fashion opportunities is nice, I was mostly happy to be able to reach a wider audience through doing God's work through service.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
It feels amazing. I also get emotional from this question because I only what to see the best in young girls and women of all ages. We are all females of worth with or without the crown. I want to see their heads hold up high and believe the queen is within them.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What is your on-stage strategy to win the judges over?
Know your audience. Even though you don’t know the judges, you can get a feel for your surroundings and when you meet the judges, the first impression always counts, whether it’s in a professional interview or a pageant interview which is still a professional interview. World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did you prepare for your competition?
I practiced consistently. Practice is key. Also, I listened to my advisor. It’s important to do more listening. World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
Even when you’re walking, you shouldn’t walk too fast and you shouldn’t walk too slow either. There has to be a balance. Don’t walk smiling from the beginning of the stage and back because that’s not authentic. And if you walk without a smile, it shows that you are not much approachable.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
It has to feel comfortable and show your personality through your clothing style.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your tips for winning interview?
Know your audience even though you are seeing them for the first time. The first impression counts. Even though you don’t know the judges and the people in the room, you can get a gist of who they will be.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? I don’t believe in the word ‘mistake’. It’s a word associated with fear. I wouldn’t change anything. I don’t think anything you go through in life is meant to be changed. You can only learn and when you take what you learn, and not repeat it, you will be happy in the long run.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
I advise them to practice their speech. To practice what they want to say to the audience. It’s not the time to be nervous. If you are, don’t let it take over you. Know your purpose. The audience is counting on you to speak from your heart. To tell them what they did not know before and to speak up on what they are hoping you would say on a larger scale.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Any modeling or acting experience?
I am a commercial model for PMTM (Pro Model and Talent) agency
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your plans for 2022 as a Queen?
Helping others in need through national and international charities. And also putting a focus on women and being a great role model to young girls.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? I want my legacy to be about showing the next generation what impact you can make when you give selflessly. Being in service has its rewards because you can impact one person’s life. I also want to be a part of the fight to end breast cancer.
