World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: Please tell us about yourself.
Hi, it’s a pleasure to meet you. First of all, I would like to thank you for your time and for the opportunity to be interviewed. My name is Jevgenia and I am from Estonia. Estonia is a country in Northern Europe. Estonia's capital and largest city, Tallinn, is famous for its well-preserved medieval Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The country also has a diverse landscape that includes forests, lakes, and islands, offering numerous opportunities for outdoor activities.
I am a specialist with 17 years of sales experience and a higher education in economics. I have many years of experience in a managerial position. The birth of my three children turned my life and views upside down. 3 months ago, I made a radical turn in my life. Now I work at school with children and really enjoy my new challenges. Often I take part in various events. I am a member of the board of trustees of my son's kindergarten. I am also a member of the parent council of my daughter's school class. This gives me a good opportunity to be active in my favorite city and do useful things for children and youth.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: Please tell us about your education.
I am currently studying. In 2023, I was admitted to the master's program at the University of Tartu in the field of Financial Management. The University of Tartu was established in 1632 by King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden. The University of Tartu is among the top 300 universities in the world. For me, the opportunity to get there is not just luck, but also an invaluable experience.
In 2023, I graduated the Tallinn School of Economics, the specialization: Taxation Specialist.
In 2004, I graduated the Tallinn School of Economics, received Professional higher education, the specialization: Accounting.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What does women Empowerment means to you?
In adolescence, I had a lot of complexes. I had to work long and hard on my self-esteem to stop reacting to the talk behind my back. Women empowerment means to me that it's absolutely normal to start loving yourself, when a woman puts her preferences first: for example, I like red lipstick, I will wear red lipstick. If I like a dress that someone else doesn't like but I do – I will wear that dress!
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: Tell us about your pageant history.
Two years ago, I saw an advertisement about beauty contest Universe Estonia 2022, it was a good opportunity to try something new. I decided to take a chance. My participation was so successful that I received two titles at once Universe Estonia People´s Choice 2022 and Mrs Universe Estonia I runner up 2022.
In October 2022, I received an invitation and represented Estonia at the international beauty contest Woman of the Universe 2022. The prestigious title Woman of the Universe Top Europe 2022 went to Estonia.
In May 2023, I became a finalist of the prestigious beauty contest Missis Estonia 2023. At the Missis Estonia 2023 beauty contest, the final of which was held in Tallinn city, I received the title Mrs. Elegance Estonia 2023.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
Since childhood, I dreamed of becoming a model, but it didn’t work out. I managed to fulfill my dream of the runway and the beauty crown already in adulthood. I was 39 years old and had three children.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
The Missis Estonia beauty contest in my country has been organized for many years by Tiina Jantson and her model school Sixtina. Getting there is a great luck. And even though I have already participated in many beauty contests, both local and international, this experience has become invaluable to me.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
At the Missis Estonia beauty contest, the selection criteria for participants are vague – there is no clear list. Any woman can try her hand. Appearance is not of great importance, nor should the figure conform to the generally accepted standards of beauty.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What makes your director different from others?
Legendary Estonian beauty contest national director Tiina Jantson has worked as a professional model for a long time and has organized Estonian beauty contests. Many directors don't organize competitions in their countries. They just make a casting to find candidates. Tiina Jantson is organizing beauty contests in Estonia already for 33 years. Tiina Jantson is like a beauty shark – she finds women who could make it as models and beauty queens.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What are you being judged on during the competition?
At the Estonian beauty contest, it's important to showcase your abilities, talents, and communication skills. The judged look at what changes have occurred with you from the beauty contest start to the beauty contest finale.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
For two weeks, the contestants gave interviews and participated in photo shoots. We had a busy schedule of presentations, rehearsals, as well as a series of spa treatments and public events.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: Who would you recommend your system to?
I would recommend system to all women. It's a versatile tool that can support the multifaceted roles women play in their personal and professional lives.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
This is a wonderful opportunity to see that every woman, every girl can take the stage, show a beautiful dress, walk beautifully and represent the country even in an international contest.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What appearances have you done with your title?
In November 2023, in Tallinn was a presentation of the new collection "Soul of the Wolf" by Estonian designer Perit Muuga. Long dresses, fur capes with hoods, the reflection of candles, enchanting makeup, and music that induces a state of light trance. The Wolf is also the national animal of Estonia. Looking at all these graceful lines and luxurious materials, you realize that the Middle Ages can be not only gloomy but also surprisingly refined. At the same time, Estonian designer Perit Muuga managed to capture the human desire to approach the power of enchanting primordial nature. Perit Muuga took time to grow as a designer because, unlike many other fashion designers who have been sewing since childhood, she had not been involved in this before.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What are some of your achievements?
For me, my main achievement is my family, which includes my beloved husband, three small children, and two sphynx cats.
I was enrolled in the Master’s Degree at the University of Tartu in Financial Management.
My participation in the Missis Estonia beauty contest.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
It was important to realize that the contest is not with the other participants, but with oneself: to take steps that allow you to grow personally.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
This is an amazing moment, I was surprised and thought, are you sure you're talking about me?
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
Being a Beauty Queen to me means having the opportunity to stand as a role model and inspire others. It's not just about the external appearance, it's about embodying grace, intelligence, and compassion. It's a platform to make a difference, to advocate for causes I believe in, and to contribute positively to society. It also means personal growth, embracing challenges, and showcasing inner beauty and strength.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
With the beauty contest, amazing people entered my life. A couple of weeks ago, I met the Estonian designer Jane Aus, who specializes in handmade jewelry.
Jane Aus product range mainly consists of silver jewelry, and everything you find in the selection is handmade by Jane in her studio in Tartu city. Jane Aus sources of inspiration are nature and minimalism. In making jewelry, she prefer to use recycled silver, which comes from the remnants of jewelry-making, outdated electronics, and medical equipment. The properties and quality of this material are the same as regular silver, but it is produced in a much more environmentally friendly way.
It is really fantastic.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image?
I received an invitation from Stuudio A beauty salon to represent their salon. At the moment, I am the face of the Stuudio A beauty salon, which is located in the center of Tallinn. Pageants have helped my self-esteem and body image by providing me with a platform to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone. Preparing for and participating in pageants requires a lot of hard work, discipline, and self-reflection.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
It's a responsibility that I take seriously, as I understand the impact that a positive role model can have on young minds.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
You can't please everyone, but pleasing yourself is vitally necessary.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: How did you prepare for your competition?
My parents and my family have given me great support. I am very grateful to my parents. They were my main judges for me.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
My catwalk gait was worked on by a specialist Jana Sulkovskaja from JK Club. In such a matter, I trust only a professional. The training program includes the basics of catwalking and graceful walking, posing for photos and videos, the ability to work in front of the camera, fashion shows, photo shoots, advertising shoots, and, of course, theory and masterclasses from professionals.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
Reflect Your Personality. Let your personality shine through your choice of dress. If you're fun and energetic, perhaps choose something with sparkle and movement. If you're more reserved, a classic and elegant style might be better.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What are your tips for winning interview?
Remember, the interview is an opportunity for the judges to get to know you beyond your application and performance on stage. It's your chance to showcase your intelligence, charm, and commitment to the pageant's causes.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
Working on a mistake gives us the opportunity to grow and move forward. I prefer to use the experience from past mistakes in the future. I am grateful to the past for what happened.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
A participant can be of absolutely any height, absolutely any weight, the most important thing is inner harmony and love for your body.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: Any modeling or acting experience?
In 2022, I participated in the contest Universe Estonia 2022 by Angel Models agency. Angel Models agency national director is Anna Mikkonen. Anna Mikkonen previously represented Estonia at various international competitions, winning several prestigious titles. Anna Mikkonen is the manager of the rehabilitation center Lootus Õnnele, engages in charity work in her free time, and raises three children. I have learned very much from Anna.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What are your plans for 2023 as a Queen?
Work with educational institutions to inspire and motivate young people, especially girls, to pursue their dreams.
World Class Queens of Europe Magazine: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
Protect our children’s peace. We should work towards preserving a state of calm and tranquility in society to ensure that children can grow up in a world free from the turmoil of conflict, insecurity, and disruption.
