Women Empowerment to me is women's sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others. Women who support themselves and support other women. We can be agents of change and impact the world impacting future generations. Empowered women stand to me: Wonderful wife, outstanding friend, marvelous daughter, adorable sister and nurturing mother. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. I started my pageant journey with the Miss Infinity King County WA title and also participated in Ms. Petite WA. Later I stood on the stage competing Mrs. India Washington USA 2020. Now, I am one of the candidates in a prestigious pageant for Married Women around the World. Coming July 2021, I will be back on the stage with my pageant sisters in the pursuit of the Mrs. India USA title. World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? While holding the appreciation award for creating Pageant’s showstopper cake in 2019 my child asked me “mom, why didn’t they give you that beautiful crown? I want you to have that” it stayed in my head and when I saw opportunity, I decided to stand on the stage to see the pride into those tiny little eyes for his mom. On the other hand, being bullied in high school for my looks and after facing body shaming for years I felt pageant is the only platform I can work on my self-confidence and physical, mental awareness in society. World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? Being bullied for looks and facing body shaming for years I felt Mrs. India USA is the only platform I can work on polishing my self-confidence as well as physical, mental awareness in society. Also doing some community service for my self-peace. I chose to compete again because my job is not done, there is still much work to be done in order to change the stigma of depression, body shaming and bullying. I have been given a platform, a voice, a chance to make changes for the better, and I am in no way done yet. World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? Mrs. India USA Pageant is designed to all married women at any size, shape, height with aim to exude confidence, substance and worth not just for the title but for humanity and kindness. World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? During the competition, I was judged on the interview, talent round, traditional wear, evening gown and on-stage question. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. It is an experience of a lifetime for me. This was my first Indian pageant in the USA, and I believe that beauty pageant for me is a comprehensive learning experience with beauty, communication, artistic expression, presentation, and fashion. The winner has lots of responsibilities and acts as a role model for the community. There are numerous benefits and experiences that are gained from beauty pageants as they help you to improve your self-esteem and confidence. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. I started my humble beginnings with community services with empowering, UNICEF USA and donated some goods to other charities like birthday dreams fundraising gala, cry foundations, Chinmaya mission. I am also working on physical and mental health awareness being into fitness for self, especially for mothers and social community. During pandemic, posting same on social media sites to show all kinds that it is possible to come over the challenges we ever think will not work. It is simply leading with an example kind. World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title? In my 2020 reign, although lockdowns put a halt to many events, I am Volunteering and being part of many service projects. I am an active volunteer for food donation drives for shelter homes and tent cities in Seattle area. Being a jack of many trades, I am always into many things and won many varieties of awards like: I was on toppers list in university while bachelors of engineering. Always had multiple wins in cultural programs and social events. Later in corporate life honored as a multi talented Cybagian in 2012, won many dance competitions performing traditional Indian folk and Bollywood dance styles, won a couple of national singing competitions where also part of few charity singing events like chance singing idol, sangeetsarita, star idol. As a cake artist won local/state level baking competitions. As the team leader, I was able to gain the victory for my school and college by winning general knowledge and speech competitions several times. It is a great pleasure for me when I see the Instagram, FB because my friends and family still appreciate my competing behaviors of school age. Moreover, I am able to continue extracurricular and volunteering until now. Because of my versatile interests and participations, it is always easy for me to connect with people and share knowledge. As reigning Mrs. India Washington USA 20-21 my personal platform is to become a charity person for women of all nations and inspiring women to look after their physical and mental health for better. World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? We are all one of a kind, therefore we all stand out from each other. But being a person with multiple strengths, I am proud, and those qualities develop me as a natural leader. First, I am deeply compassionate with regard for the needs of all people. Second, I am people oriented and I can influence other people to make positive changes in their lives. I have seen this through my blogging and confirmed by feedback from friends and family, my colleagues, the people that I regularly keep in touch. Being able to make a change in someone’s life is truly a greater achievement for me. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. I was so overwhelmed, very much thankful, and humbled to be crowned as the winner that night. It was an extreme level of happiness after trying something out of the box and working really hard for it. World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? Beyond the title itself, to be a Beauty Queen to me is more of a responsibility for me to lead, support and be consistent with my advocacies in life. Displaying beauty not just in the physical but more so in the values I have lived I wish to share to others. Inspiring and being inspired is a duty to fulfill towards society. I could say being a beauty queen is such a great honor and privilege. World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life? It has empowered me, inspired me to be a better self every day, made me more comfortable with who I am and given me the confidence and skills to succeed in whatever I choose to do in life. It proved me that it is ok to be a woman with a million dreams and trying to build a legacy which leads to a path paved by my own success and failures. Pageant boosts my self-confidence, as It made me discover more of what I'm capable of and unleash the limits I set on myself. World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image? As I said, even after faced body shaming publicly, I was always comfortable in my own skin and have worked hard to make myself the person I am today. This pageant have given me more strong will power to look for much better and try to work even harder. It is not just the outer look but always more about how we feel inside out. World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? This is exactly the biggest responsibility; I am having on my shoulders. It's an opportunity that I don't want to waste. Instead I'm making sure that I'm using this time in an effort to continue inspiring them, setting myself as an example and radiate positivity in life. As I already said, it is like leading with an example kind. World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on-stage strategy to win the judges over? Only strategy for me is to be me and true. I am who I am standing and being just the same. World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? I attended training and grooming sessions planned for pageant participants, read more about related areas, got into practicing walk, wardrobe selection, try learning more on public speaking, to fitness and of course not forget mental and emotional preparation. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2021 as a Queen? As it is the year of glory and giving, I will not stop spreading the importance of love, kindness, and doing more community services. Getting inspired with wonderful people I am surrounded with and being an inspiration to many who need it at the moment.
