I am an hotelier by profession. I am a person that is driven by passion and hard-work. I am myself at all times and I embrace every opportunity to learn and experience new adventure. World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about your education. I am a diploma holder in Food Production. Unfortunately I did not further my education, I was forced to drop out of school while I was pursuing a course in Travel Tourism because of lack of school fees. However I still have a dream to further my studies and am greatly looking forward to it. World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? To me, women empowerment is creating an environment where a woman can raise her voice, make her own decisions and get opportunities without discrimination. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. I had my first pageant competition in the year 2013, where I contested for Miss Zetec University and emerged the 1st runners up. I later joined Miss world Kenya, where I represented my county (Siaya County) and got to the top ten(10) finalists. Today, this year 2022 I am more than glad to be representing my beautiful country Kenya at the first edition of Universal Woman Beauty Pageant worldwide. World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? I was young , fresh from high school and I was this young girl full of passion for modeling and couldn’t wait to appear on magazines, tv commercials and I thought to myself that here was a platform that would give me a window of opportunities in the entertainment world. World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? Universal Woman Beauty Pageant offers a platform for women empowerment and a chance to live up Achieve one’s dreams, joining a community that inspires and empowers me to believe in myself is where I wanted to be. World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? Universal Woman Pageant is a platform of activities focused on family values, promotion of diverse cultures, Tourism and respect for women. It purpose to crown the ambassador of kindness able to transmit tolerance and togetherness among all countries in the world. World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? Physical beauty definitely, poise, posture, charisma , ability to communicate well and the ability to serve as a role model to the people in general. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. I felt quite challenged with the fact that a lot of us women have more abilities than the chances offered to us. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. I have worked with several organizations previously, however, currently I am working with two organizations, ie, Campde Voices and Amani Kibera to provide information and educate girls and women in the marginalized communities on ways to adapt to climate change. World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title? So far, I joined EM Africa Academy, a modeling institution of learning, in the celebration of the girl child month in empowering of young women/girls in the modeling industry. I was invited to witness the official launch of The Kenya Fashion Council (KFCO) with took place on Friday 11th February 2022 at the Strathmore Business School. World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? I have been able to be recognized as a model of the year 2021 in Africa by an online voting platform initiated by Pageants Show Special Award. World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? I believe every girl is unique and strong in their own ways and all of us worked so hard to be in the competition. My charisma and the faith to keep pushing forward to achieving my dreams no matter the challenges I face would be my ideal standing out winning point. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. I really wasn’t expecting to be the winner but immediately I was announced I knew my time to shine has come. It was exciting . World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? I believe a beauty queen is a woman who is kind, gracious and who is able to utilize her skills, talents and her time to help others and make the world around her a better place to be. World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life? It has really helped me shape my life in a positive way. I have been encouraged to have an ambition to dream of something and be good at it. It has also been a window of opportunities in my modeling career. World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image? I have been able to boost my self confidence and believe in myself more than before. Today I can stand and speak my thoughts and opinions with courage. World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? It’s really humbling to have someone look up to you and feel inspired and empowered. I am humbled and grateful that the universe has given me a chance to be a role model figure to other girls. World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? Maintaining confidence during presentation is my number one strategy , and always being myself and not overdoing it on stage. World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? I identified the areas of judging in the competition and the common goal for each in preparing myself, practice and more practice until I feel confident. I also have a team of trainers including CAMPDE VOICES that trains me on articulate speaking skills.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk? My tip is to always find a rhythm. This increases confidence level and helps to have more fun. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? Always choose a dress that compliments your body shape. Knowing your body type and choosing a dress that enhances your best features is important. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview? Be confident and be yourself always. Maintain a good poise and posture. World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? I have always had a fierce look and most of the time I would forget to smile. This is something am working on and am glad that am getting better. World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? I think most mistakes are made during interviews . Most contestants don’t practice timing and end up rambling and not keeping it straight and brief. World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience? I have worked as a high fashion model for fashion shows, featured in fashion magazine segments, fashion catalogues and commercial adverts. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2022 as a Queen? First of all am currently in the middle of preparations for the Universal Woman Pageant final contest that will be held in Dubai. As a beauty queen I want to use my platform to engage in more community work and influence more women in communities about my course of adapting to climate change. World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? I dream of building a platform that girls would come in to be inspired, empowered as well as have fun. A place where a young woman will call a safe place that will give them opportunities to learn and windows of opportunities in every sector.
