World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Please tell us about yourself.

I am from a small European country. I won Mrs. Estonia 2021 and Mrs. Earth 2022. I am very happy, excited and thankful to have these titles! I am the very first Mrs. Estonia to win Mrs. Earth! I am married and a mother of three boys. I like Latin dances. I have been dancing Latin dances for more than 15 years! I like a green mindset at home and at work. I work as a Senior Software Engineer at Bolt and I like how technology and the environment can be connected. Bolt has a goal to make cities cleaner (already made it in 400+ cities!). My mission for already a long time has been to encourage, educate and attract women and high school girls to choose IT or other technology fields.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Please tell us about your education.

I have a Master’s Degree in Engineering. I studied Informatics at Tallinn University of Technology. I find education and learning very important. At high school I had no idea what to learn and who I should become. I studied in a small school in South-Estonia called Kanepi Gümnaasium. I finished it with a silver medal and mathematics exam result 99 out of 100. I started to look for study programs that have lots of mathematics and I found Informatics. (Although it is not a precondition, you can actually be successful in IT without enjoying IT).

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does women Empowerment means to you?

I like that at pageants women can support and cheer for one other! So that one Queen fixes another woman's crown without telling even that it was broken. As a Senior Software Engineer women empowerment means to inspire, educate and encourage women and girls - to break stereotypes, to get more women excited about technology and to show the world that more diverse groups of people are more successful. I do different activities in that field - workshops, talking in events, cooperation with University events etc. I just lately had an interview with a girl that got inspired by a newspaper article of me (where I covered technical topics, pageants, family and dancing topics) and I will soon have another group of work shadows coming and seeing my everyday work. World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your pageant history.

I am Mrs. Estonia 2021 and now Mrs. Earth 2022! I participated also in Mrs. Europe and during university time I participated in Miss Tallinn University of Technology. This was my very first pageant. Altogether I have had 4 pageants.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

It was 19 years ago. I think I was inspired by the student organization that organized that event. And from the pageant. I got an inspiration that I can do anything I set my mind to.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

As Mrs. Earth competition is about raising awareness about the environment, then I felt I am perfect candidate for that. I spent my childhood in the countryside on a farm - I am used to protecting nature, planting trees and growing food. My homeland Estonia is very clean and green - more than half of Estonia is covered with forests and bogs and air is one of the cleanest in the world. In Estonia, 99% of governmental services are online. World Cleanup Day (to clean nature) was initiated in Estonia and we celebrate Digital Cleaning Day. It is so important to realize how big our digital footprint is. We have a lot of more green initiatives in Estonia! Estonia is famous for start-ups. I have green mindset (at work, at home, everywhere).

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

It is about spreading awareness of how to preserve our Mother Earth for Future generations. And to be glamorously green.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What makes your director different from others?

Estonian national director Tiina Jantson is very experienced. She has worked as a professional model for a long time and has organized Estonian beauty contests already for 32 years (including Mrs. Estonia competition for 30 years!). Tiina is Director of Sixtina Dance and Model School, mother of two, grandmother of three and has many other achievements!

Mrs. Estonia competition turned 30 this year. My victory at Mrs. Earth competition is a big gift to celebrate that jubilee. This year Tiina just got a recognition from Mrs. Earth organization! I am proud to do big things together with her! World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are you being judged on during the competition?

In pageants they look your mindset (in this particular pageant mindset about environment), your achievements, your

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

My Mrs. Earth competition was virtual and I did all the video edits for it by myself! By the way, it was so tricky to film the videos in Estonia during the winter time. The first deadline was February 1, so I had just December and January for filming. It was snowing and freezing outside, but I still filmed a national costume video outside! We filmed a few minutes, then got back to the car to warm up, then got outside to film a few minutes, then back to the car etc. The other videos I filmed indoors, but it was still tricky due to lockdown restrictions - in December and January we had rapidly growing pandemic cases and a lot of parties and events were postponed. But as I have always said - it is important to find opportunities, not excuses!

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Who would you recommend your system to?

Of course! Work hard to achieve your goals and believe that success awaits at the edge of the comfort zone!

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

I like to connect technology, environment and women in IT! I really see how top-notch technology helps to save our planet. My mission as a Sr. Software Engineer has been to get more women to IT, to encourage and educate them. Diverse teams work better. Our planet will definitely benefit from engaging more women in tech and making the world greener with technology!

I like sharing my green thoughts with the world too! The Earth is what we all have in common. If we do not protect our home planet, then there is nowhere else to go. We need to protect and use wisely the resources that may run out.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What appearances have you done with your title?

I have been on TV, in several newspaper and magazine articles, in New York Fashion Week, in Tallinn Fashion Week, judge at Mrs. Estonia, choreographer for one round at Mrs. Estonia.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are some of your achievements?

There are probably many more achievements, but I think main achievements are having a family with three kids, Master’s Degree in Engineering and winning Mrs. Estonia and Mrs. Earth.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I really feel I am unique with my IT education (both Bachelor and Masters degree), software engineering work which is related to making 400 cities greener in the world, volunteer work related to women in tech topics, and on the other side with nordic beauty and personality. I am very tall (180 cm, 5'11 feet), I like dancing, running and going to gym and I am a wife and a mother of 3 boys.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

It was an incredible moment! In virtual competition it is so different than on the stage, but still an amazing moment that I will never forget!

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

To be a role model in all the areas in life and to inspire others that if you can envision it, you can bring it to life!

On the on hand I am beauty queen and on the other hand I would like to inspired girls to choose IT area. Girls do not choose IT that easily and there are very many reasons behind that - but they should, this area of life is not just for boys! I can promise that in IT everybody finds their dream job. Not all the IT jobs are deeply technical (although I personally like the most technical jobs). The jobs in IT are also very creative and require much more than just mathematics. Very often girls are afraid that they need to change themselves to fit in the area. I am a good example that you can be successful at a technical job, look feminine and have feminine hobbies and even win some pageants! Choose IT and let's make the world greener with technology!

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

The mindset of dream big is good in all areas in life!

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image?

It definitely has helped! Just very hard to describe how.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

It is actually a big responsibility. Also I feel I have to be inspiration to boys (for example my own sons) to see every day how we use smart home solutions, solar panels and in generally the green mindset.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

I think it was my uniqueness that helped me to win.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did you prepare for your competition?

I think all the years when I was dancing, studying and raising kids just prepared me for the competition.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

As a dancer I have been on stage for many years and this has helped me a lot. Also from Youtube you could find very useful material.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

The most important thing is the feeling you have when you wear it. If you do not feel like a beautiful and confident Queen, then you should find another dress.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your tips for winning interview?

To read a lot of news every day. And to practice public speaking.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

I do not remember any big mistakes and I think if mistakes happen, it is important not to concentrate on those. Just move on!

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

Probably I just do not have the ability to see mistakes. I saw everybody enjoying themselves and that is so cool. Just prepare, dream, work hard and everything will turn out great!

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Any modeling or acting experience?

Yes, for example in New York Fashion Week and Tallinn Fashion Week.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your plans for 2022 as a Queen?

To give talks, to go to fashion weeks as model. World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

To inspire people to have goals and make the goal into small pieces - then it is easier to achieve them. A step, no matter how small, is still a move forward. Those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, actually can. Find opportunities, not excuses!

Sponsors - I did not find sponsors (in Estonia pageants are not supported by government. I asked few companies, but they did not have resources/plans to support. I did not have too much time to search for sponsors too). I was lucky and proud of myself to have worked so hard that as a Senior Software Engineer I was able to cover everything by myself. And I would like to thank my family for supporting to achieve my goals! World Class Beauty Queens Magazine would like to say thank you for this amazing interview!
